Does Clearpath sell my location data?

No. Clearpath does not sell location data, does not run ads, and uses no third-party trackers. Live location is never transmitted to Clearpath servers; routing is processed on-device wherever possible.

Does Clearpath require an account?

No. There is no signup, no email, and no phone number. Saved favorites, custom danger zones, and incident reports are tied to an anonymous per-install device identifier.

Where does Clearpath work?

Clearpath works in the Cape Town metropolitan area. The €7.99 Tourist Pass extends premium coverage to the Garden Route and the Winelands.

Why isn't Clearpath fully free?

The free tier covers what most people need: live danger zones, safe routing, and community reports. Premium features like real-time hijacking alerts, offline maps and voice navigation cost real money to run - server time, data feeds, moderation. Charging a fair €3.99 keeps the free tier sustainable for everyone, instead of selling your data or filling the app with ads.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Premium is a monthly subscription you manage in your App Store or Play Store account. Cancel and you'll keep premium features until the end of the billing period, then drop back to the free tier - no questions, no friction.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Nothing. There's no account to delete because we don't require one. Any saved routes or reports remain on your device. We don't keep a server-side profile of where you've been.

I'm a tourist visiting for a week. Do I really need premium?

If you're driving in unfamiliar parts of South Africa, the Tourist Pass (€7.99 for 14 days) covers your whole trip - Cape Town, the Garden Route, the Winelands, wherever you go. One-time purchase, no auto-renewal.
